Do they know how much trouble people go through to capture these and put them online?

The internet service was almost cut yesterday. Youtube was filtered in Iran. And still youtube wants to pull their videos? WTF? :mad:

3. They have policies against "violent content" and there's always copyright claims...

... from news organizations that don't want their content to be archived and analyzed independently... I mean, don't want to lose control of their intellectual property.

YouTube can be real dicks about that.

And the ViaCom-owned stations are super-dickish about over-policing copyright.

If they have "death" in the title, or the content is graphic.

6. It's always a good idea to download anything important in case it gets pulled for some reason.

About 10% of the videos in the DU Political forum that I've commented on have been deleted by YouTube or the original uploaded for one reason or another.

Fortunately, about 3/4 of those that were pulled were subsequently re-uploaded again by someone.

But good luck finding a copy of "Here comes McCain Again" on YouTube.

Not the most important video in the world, but the only one that comes to the top of my mind for videos KIA by YouTube.

In any event, better saved than sorry.
