Obama's new US Appeals Court Nominee on WWII Japanese Internment
Judge Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr.

"Our constitution, if it is to have any meaning or effect, must function at its best in times of crisis. In those times, each branch of government must question, not defer; probe, not acquiesce; and proceed with caution, not alacrity. After Pearl Harbor, the confidence of the American people, and the military in particular, was severely shaken. The criticism of the Court's internment opinions is in its willingness to accept blindly the military's representations and conclusions without subjecting them to close scrutiny. Essentially, the Supreme Court abrogated its responsibility by condoning suspect racial classifications that resulted in the suspension of the constitution based on prejudice and hatred."

5. Were there any Japanese/American terrorist attacks or arrests during this time?

I could google but the wealth of knowledgeable historians around here makes that seem rather superfluous.

Edited for grammar.

7. There were no Americans of Japanese descent involved in any acts of treason
during WWII - the same can not be said of the Bush family.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/442nd_Regimental_Combat_Team

The 442nd Infantry, formerly the 442nd Regimental Combat Team of the United States Army, was an Asian American unit composed of mostly Japanese Americans who fought in Europe during the Second World War.<1> The families of many of its soldiers were subject to internment. The 442nd was a self-sufficient fighting force, and fought with uncommon distinction in Italy, southern France, and Germany. The unit became the most highly decorated military unit in the history of the United States Armed Forces, including 21 Medal of Honor recipients, earning the nickname “The Purple Heart Battalion”.
