Michelle Malkin apparently not clear how many live in the US
Michelle Malkin

If you believe the White House, there are 30 million Americans who support a government health care takeover. But if you look at the funding behind the Obamacare campaign, it's the same few leftist billionaires, union bosses and partisan community organizers pushing the socialized medicine agenda. Let's connect the dots...

Malkin appears amazed that Liberals spend money to promote their ideas in Washington. This idea would amaze anyone that was below the age of I imagine 5. So not much interesting there... wait only 30 million people support government health care? That's less than 10 % of the population of the US. Why is she so worried if the White House has backing from only 30 million people. Oh wait

The survey by The New York Times and CBS News also indicated most Americans would be willing to pay higher taxes so everyone could have health insurance. Eighty-five percent of respondents said the health care system needed to be fundamentally changed or completely rebuilt, according to the poll. In addition, the survey found that 72 percent of those questioned supported a government-administered insurance plan -- something like Medicare for those under 65 -- that would compete for customers with private insurers. Twenty percent said they were opposed.

So there are roughly ~ 306 million people in the US. 72 percent would mean some 220 million people support a government administered plan not 30 million.

1. Some dweeb on KFI was crowing this AM about how a whopping
85% of Americans are perfectly happy with their health care situation right now. Where do these people come up with this shit?

2. Although I agree with your anti Malkin, pro health care
sentiment in general, I think you have some confusion with numbers yourself. "72 percent of those polled" does not equal 72% of the population of the country. All 306 million people do not vote; some are children and some just don't vote for other reasons.

Like the Bible, people can bend statistics to "prove" whatever they want. We can't use fuzzy math like that. They will throw us under the bus.

For example, did you know that 64% of statistics are made up on the spot?;-)

5. I agree
But I'm pretty sure the polls aren't of likely voters there just opinion polls and thus are suppose to be roughly population based. On the other hand I'm pretty sure Malkin just made up her 30 million out her butt with no clue as to if that was a lot of Americans or a small fraction of Americans. It must of sounded big at the time. Perhaps like Dr. Evil Malkin is just stuck in 1960s thinking.
