Time to do some more letters - who do I send them to? I am so pissed right now. They jumped mine almost 10%. I'm to angry to deal with the poor phone idiots right now - I'd rather take it out on the political cowards responsible.

12. mine isn't great and I am carrying too much, but I have been working really
hard on this for the last few years. But with gas prices last year, cattle prices this year, and nobody wanting the work husband does we are squeezed. I don't want to walk away from debt I have taken on. I am or at least try to be a responsible person, but jeebus they just keep grasping for more, more, more...

6. The Senate
Trying to get them to cap rates is decades old. One has two options right now, don't have cards and get screwed. Take your pick because the elected officials won't do sh*t.

19. sounds like you just want to complain
instead of actually doing something about your problem. Live within your means. One of the greatest blessings I received when my house was foreclosed on was my credit card companies all cut off my credit. I paid off what little debt I had and will never be a slave to them again.

I'll say it again, live within your means. Its not impossible and its very liberating. Or just keep complaining, whatever gets you through the day.

21. oh the FU was the correct choice
You really ought to have a little better understanding/compassion for people that find themselves in similar circumstances. (not for me - I don't give a shit what you think of me and the truth is you don't know why I am carrying credit card debt)

Live within your means. Nice. What sort of helpful advice do you give to homeless people?

14. Send one to your state regulator. I got good responses that way.
See if you can find anyone who is already prosecuting or negotiating with your company.

16. ooo a regulator. good thinking
I had pretty good luck getting action when I called the Corporation Commission on AT&T for not fixing a washed out cable line. I wonder if that is who deals with the banks here.

20. You might get lucky and find that your state is already prosecuting JPM/Chase for something else,
in which case they'd be happy to have additional leverage from you, and you could presumably benefit from their efforts, too. Some states are more active than others.

Again, if you can find more people in your situation, it works better and gets more attention. There really needs to be a good clearinghouse for consumers to join up on such matters. You might try posting on various JPM stock boards or other web sites that post company news.

Google might also turn up a few sites started by disgruntled customers.

Just a few thoughts.

17. Delaware legislature under Gov. Pierre duPont IV (R) did away
with interest rate caps to lure credit card companies to Delaware as an economic development measure.
Some other states followed. That was in the seventies.

18. I'm not talking about when it happened like that.
I'm talking about bail-out monies or more recent regulatory changes - weren't there originally going to be provisions to cap rates (I'm thinking I heard it was like 15%) but it got pulled as too "mean" to the assholes. (or maybe it was an attempt to insert it during the process)
