Washington Times: "secret program involved assassinations"
grain of salt of course...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jul/12/intel-official-congress-not-briefed-on-cia-program/

<snip>

The New York Times first reported on its Web site Saturday that the program was concealed from Congress at the direction of Mr. Cheney, who was and remains a strong proponent of harsh measures to prevent terrorist attacks. The Associated Press, quoting an unnamed source, reported that Mr. Cheney had directed the CIA not to inform Congress about the program.

An official told The Washington Times that Mr. Cheney "was one official out of a select few who was aware of the program." Mr. Tenet was another, he said.

The exact nature of the program remains a mystery. This official hinted that the secret program involved assassinations overseas but declined to provide further details.

Another intelligence official, who also spoke on the condition that he not be named, said the classified program was known as an SAP, or special access program.

SAPs are intelligence activities that are so secret that even officers with the highest intelligence clearances do not know about them, and their access is reserved for only the most senior officials and officers directly working on the activities.

2. The water is running over the top....and trickling through the cracks. Hopefully...
the DAM breaks and soon! These people need to be exposed as the creeping crawling things of the underworld and sent to their everlasting ignominy and confinement or death.

I include Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Yoo as well as Addington and Card at BARE MINIMUM.

3. so Cheney was running a death squad operation from the White House?
If this doesn't call for a criminal investigation, we might as well throw in the towel and admit American democracy is a fraud.

10. Throwing Cheney under the bus to defend Bush, maybe?
There's been continued strain between Bush and Cheney since they left office. My feeling is that they all know bad things are coming down the pike and are preemptively moving their chess pieces around so they're not the last one left standing when the shit hits the fan.

(Yeah, today is official mix-a-metaphor-for-Jesus day. Got any problems with that?)

It may be fun seeing everybody pile on Cheney, but when all the MSM join in, it starts to look a bit orchestrated. I think Cheney knows he's going to be made the fall guy, and that explains a lot of his squirming over the past several months.

I also suspect Poppy Bush is the ultimate chessmaster in all of this, pulling Junior's fat out of the fire as he's done so many times before.

14. You said it better than I did.

This is exactly what I was trying to say. They KNOW there's lots more coming and their tools--like the Wash Times are trying to start a misdirection campaign.

16. I'm Surprised. Isn't The Washington Times A Conservative Rag?
I thought they would be on the forefront denying the existence of any such program, and if any such program existed, then arguing that Cheney and Bush did not know about it.
