Gonzales knew about the "other" eavesdropping program during his hearings
Remember when Gonzales was being asked questions about the eavesdropping program?

He kept clarifying, when answering questions about spying, that the "particular program in question" was legal bla bla bla. I took that to mean that there was another program, not in question that was being conducted that was not being asked about because it was not known. I'm just a regular gal and I was quite certain that there was another program just by the way Gonzales kept saying "the program in question. " That to me meant that the illegal stuff was being conducted in the other program, not in question.

1. I remember that

I was wondering to myself, what other programs were going on...he did this numerous times during his testamony...I wondered why no one on the panel questioned him about how many other programs were going on at the same time?

2. I'm so glad someone here remembers. It was so clearly an effort to be
technically correct if the other program and it's illegal activities ever came to light, his ass would be covered as he was only referring to the program "in question."

4. and then there is Harriet Miers
i used to think she was just a place holder candidate for the Supreme Court. used as a diversion for scooter libby's conviction. (which she was) now, with this news about cheney's secret program, she must have known about it, too.

her vetting and confirmation hearing would have been interesting. we might have had a sitting Supreme Court justice who was involved in illegal activity. maybe this is the real reason she bailed out and her timing was just useful to cheney/libby..
