AP NewsBreak: Palin implicated in ethics probe

By RACHEL D'ORO, Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

(07-21) 13:26 PDT Anchorage, Alaska (AP) --

An independent investigator has found evidence that Gov. Sarah Palin may have violated ethics laws by accepting private donations to pay her legal debts.

The report obtained by The Associated Press says Palin is securing unwarranted benefits and receiving improper gifts through the Alaska Fund Trust, set up by supporters.

An investigator for the state Personnel Board says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the "official" legal defense fund.

Not big enough to force her out.

4. And there goes the "I'm doing what's best for Alaska" story.
Just like the "thanks, but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere" story.

Both LIES. Both spoken from Palin's mouth. Typical Republican: liar, corrupt, hypocrite. Apples don't fall far from the tree, do they?

10. And the Personnel Board will do nothing
bcause she appointed at least one member and, if they do nail her, she'll call herself Joan of Arc. Nothing to see here.

I think we now have one clear indication of why she resigned. I think she is also going for the gold with a book and speaking engagements etc.

24. I am actually pretty sure she did say 'also, too' somewhere in her...
interview with ABC's "In what respect, Charlie" Gibson but I didn't find it in any of the quotes so far. I would probably have to watch that interview again and........ no frikkin' way, lol.

I did, however, find a gem I had not heard/seen before! Here it is in all it's Palin glory:

"Absolutely. Yup, yup." --Sarah Palin after being asked by People magazine if she was ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency

Just posting that is making me laugh so damn hard!

33. Thanks! I am glad it was not just me!
I was beginning to wonder as I could not find the quote with that gem in it but, after looking at all the batshit crazy quotes from that interview, I realized "also, too" was nothing, lol.

26. Holy crap... I forgot Tina actually just quoted her for that skit...

It seems impossible that a VP candidate could be this stupid... but then agian there was that Quayle.

"Like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this. We're saying, 'Hey, why bail out Fanny and Freddie and not me?' But ultimately what the bailout does is, help those that are concerned about the healthcare reform that is needed to help shore up our economy to help...uh...it's gotta be all about job creation, too. Also, too, shoring up our economy and putting Fannie and Freddy back on the right track and so healthcare reform and reducing taxes and reigning in spending...'cause Barack Obama, y'know...has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans, also, having a dollar value meal at restaurants. That's gonna help. But one in five jobs being created today under the umbrella of job creation. That, you know...Also..."

The stupid... it burns!

Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 05:30 PM by redqueen
Palin did add that about the value meals... :P

Here's the original:

"PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

No "also, too" in there, though... dang.

37. I thought it was pretty amazing
that she hadn't given ONE interview to KTUU since the turkey fiasco, KTUU being the number one news station in the state. My guess is she hasn't been giving interviews to the Anchorage Daily News either, because they were getting their Palin news second hand from such sources as People magazine there for a while -- and her Twitter account, most recently, which has been good for a laugh. The whole "fishing expedition" thing last week or whenever it was was strictly for the national media, no locals invited.

She has had a terrible relationship with the local media since the campaign.
