It's a Fact--We already paid for our healthcare IN ADVANCE when we paid our insurance premiums
... and as long as we remain healthy the healthcare insurance companies receiving our premium payments have a duty to INVEST those premium payments and add the ROI to the fund needed to pay our healthcare expenses when we need healthcare services.

So what is wrong with this picture?

A huge portion of our healthcare premiums are scraped right off the top to pay excessive bonuses, perks and compensation for healthcare insurance company officials and to pay out dividends to their shareholders. None of which is available to pay our legitimate healthcare claims.

Even though we PAID IN ADVANCE for the contracted benefits we are due, the healthcare insurance companies construct barriers to paying out reimbursement for those legitimate healthcare services, and in the most expensive cases try to deny coverage in full for services we are entitled to receive.

Having a mandate which requires all citizens to buy private healthcare insurance without a public option is the dream come true for healthcare insurance companies. And that would be healthcare reform we can live without...

owned by many people, there are greedy shitheads looking to game the system in order to steal it. Insurance, bank accounts, pension funds, etc.

3. You're wrong. An insurance company's first and ONLY duty is to its shareholders
There is no duty to invest profits for the benefit of beneficiary; only to provide the minimum care required by law such that profits will be maximized.

This is the essence of the "free market" religion so many buy into. It's a disgusting system, but this is the reality--it is a breach of a CEO's fiduciary duty to consider anything other than bottom line profits when making decisions. :hi:

6. Thats why certain businesses have no business being publicly traded
Some business models should NOT be purely about ever increasing profits.

Health care, insurance, utilities etc..

5. The premiums are the "tax" that pays for medical care. But with insurance co.'s skimming off the top
This is how they should be framing it.

You pay taxes or you pay premiums. One goes directly to health care, the other goes to huge corporations and advertising, etc.

It's a no brainer. Well, except for the shouting idiots.

7. In my case it was when I signed on the dotted line so many years ago
The blood spilled, the agony of the nights even today, yep I paid for my healthcare years ago. Let me tell you about, on second thought maybe I don't want to go there any further.
