Any word on distribution of flu vaccine at colleges?

Kids not attending college should be offered the vaccine, also, but it seems reasonable to make a special effort to reach people living in close quarters.

I'm not in favor of the vax. Just another terror alert! Try hand-washing, built up immune systems, smart seclusion if needed, common sense!

Who cares if 90,000 die - after all its just the flu....:sarcasm:

Treatment for the flu also should not be given because after all most people survive with extra sleep and plenty to drink and an occasional aspirin - why pay for medical care for the flu?

9. Probably the best thing you can do for your kids is to

let them have the extra few minutes to thoroughly wash their hands.

4. If you're not in favor of the vaccination, I suggest you not take it.

However, I'd also suggest that you refrain from offering your non-medical opinion to others. It's poor practice to offer medical advice without credentials.

Of course, you will do as you please, but that's my suggestion to you.

5. Most colleges have vaccination stations on campus for the

seasonal flu as soon as it is available, and recommend that students take advantage of them. I assume the same will be in effect this year with both types of vaccine. And you're right, the close proximity of college students certainly militates toward taking the vaccine. I sure would if I were in that group.

6. Kind of personal for me - I'm now back attending college.

So if H1N1 strikes back, I'm conceivably right in the firing line.

Granted, I'm relatively healthy, and chances are good that if I get it, I'll just end up with a few days of feeling crappy, and fight it off, but there's that possibility that I'll get a nasty complication.
