I was talking to my brother on the phone and he mentioned an up and coming politician called Peter Davies, mayor of Doncaster. As my brother is much more conservative than I am, I have a feeling that I will not be very enthusiastic about him. Any info would help.

1. 'English Democrats' - the party is bad news

Very right wing and nationalistic, though not openly racist, unlike the BNP. However, they are the only party (and not even the BNP is stupid and nasty enough to do this) for which I've seen a senior figure (head of the south eastern region, I think) argue, on the net, that it was good that a support of another party committed suicide, because he was 'weak willed' or similar, and thus typical of a Lib Dem supporter.

His first action: try to cut funding for a Gay Pride march.

If your brother thinks the English Democrats are OK, then there may be no hope for him.

my brother is a lost cause, politically. He thinks the same about me, but we love each other anyway.
Thanks for the info though. I also did some checking on him and apparently he gave a terrible interview to the BBC after his election.

I have family in Doncaster that I have lost touch with over the years, Unfortunately they probably voted for him. Well, supposedly, Karma's a bitch, we will see.
