Can Freepers Really Be This Out Of Touch??
Edited on Sat Apr-14-07 06:04 PM by lligrd
Edited to post the date because it is pertinent.

I wanted to see what they were saying on Freerepublic about the Rove missing emails but I couldn't even find a post about it. (What a surprise, huh?) Did find this gem in esponse to a post about Wolfowitz:

"Get the conservative and hope it trickles down to President Bush.

Anything even faintly negative and tenousouly related to President Bush is “big” news. (Don’t tell them about that campaign worker who got a parking ticket last week.)

The libidots are making sure President Bush doesn’t get reelected."

apparently you didn't recognize the sarcasm...?

the poster realizes that bush cannot run again- he's calling liberals idiots because he see's them as trying to make sure that bush won't be re-elected- as if the liberals don't realize that he can't run again.

49. This medium does not lend itself to sarcasm that well, because
it does not convey the "non-verbal" cues that help people identify sarcasm in the real world, things such as: tone of voice; facial expression; neutral, or at least non-aggressive, body language and other cues. Posts ae more or less context-less and everyone thinks s/he is Stephen Colbert these days.

I think it is unfair to characterize so many people as stupid.

66. Your "broad brush" comment about DU'ers not "recognizing sarcasm"
Simply because they ignored the fact that some freeper thinks that "libidots" (whatever those are) think bush can be elected. Perhaps you fail to recognize that many freepers think he can run again, as evidenced by prior freeper posts noted on DU.

But I recognize your user name, your style. So your sarcasm falls as flat as a freeper's sarcasm.

and on the conservative MSM. They know that this one could be bad and they're gonna just stick to the "they serve at the pleasure of the president" for as long a possible. I looked everywhere on conservative sites this morning and could find NOTHING. It's definitely a strategy on their part. Too bad it won't work.

21. Freepers not so bright
What can I say? A libidot is likely a libIDIOT, but spelling is SUCH a difficult thing.

And given their strong grasp of American government and the Constitution, I expect many DO believe their beloved Dubya COULD run again in 2008. :eyes:

And the freepers's fundamental duh-ness is the reason the rethugs think that they can send the newest White House spokesweasel into the briefing room and say, "Oops, my bad! We've lost the emails!" This group of dummies actually believes the delete key DOES really make Mr. Email disappear. All gone. Bye-bye.

26. A couple of freepers once said they were going to visit Lake Wobegon
and have a talk with Garrison Keillor about his George Bush jokes. They were "series" about it. I told them to visit the Powedermilk Biscuit factory and talk with Guy Noir, who is president of the Lake Wobegon Republican Party. They thanked me for the tip. Freeper loons on sports forums are so much fun sometimes.

40. I think that's a big part of their "argument," though.
My freshman year of college (which happened to be 2004), one of my hallmates was a hardcore Bush-supporting Republican, and she had a link on her profile to some website - I don't remember what it was, but I was dumb enough to go there. It was painful. Not only did they "argue" that since "liberals" claimed W stole the election that meant that he could serve as President a third term (wrong), I very clearly remember the statement "I would vote for a retarded mule if it had an 'R' beside its name on the ballot." :scared: :puke: I would say that that's exactly what they did, but that would be offensive to retarded mules.

Those idiots probably think that just writing in his name on the ballot will circumvent the Constitution (cuz, yanno, the POPULACE vote should count then, just not with Gore....)
