Cheney BURPS On National Television - Face The Nation
About 20 minutes ago VP Cheney in his interview with Mr. Scheiffer let out a burp mid-sentence.

Hey Fat Bastard lay off the Jimmy Dean sausage for breakfast before you do an interview. It's "irresponsible." Ever hear of Gas X? Or was that simply more hot air flying out of your mouth. I suppose he now will blame the Democrats for his burp. What a piece of work.

15. He is clueless as regards etiquette (I have seen him eat).
If 'eat' is the proper term for how he goes about feeding himself.

Elbows on table, shoveling food into his mouth while hunkered down low over his plate.

Chewing with open mouth and talking at the same time.

Just awful.

40. He couldn't be much worse than Bush
Remember that a-hole chewing with his mouth open in Germany? I feel like I have to send apologies to whomever he visits abroad.

Dear Your Majesty, Queen Elizabeth,

I write to express my dismay at my "President's" behavior while visiting you recently. I hear he destroyed several of your prized rose bushes. I only hope he didn't drop any of the corgis. Please know that he's a source of deep embarrassment to all decent Americans. Please also know that there are a few of us left.

Sincerely,

Dear Chancellor Merkel,

I have no words sufficient to express my horror after watching the buffoon who calls himself President of the United States manhandle you during his recent visit to Germany. Please consider this note my permission to go upside his head if he ever tries anything like that again.

Sincerely,

P.S. If you do go upside his head, please tape it so we can all watch.

If he didn't bother to stifle it on air, though, it's not going to play well with his symbolism bound base, such as it is.

He did try to stifle it on air, he placed his hand over his mouth and said "excuse me."

Still giggling, funny how a simple burp can make one's day. I feel like I am back in grade school when Sister Mary Margaret Music Math and Diction almost choked on her pitch pipe.

41. If he is on blood pressure medicine, that might have caused it.
I take BP meds, and I was surprised by a burp once in an awkward situation. That had never happened to me before, but when I spoke to my doctor about it, she said it was common with certain BP meds. Now that I am aware of it, I take Nexium for the acid reflux the meds cause, and I am always alert for the possibility that a burp might try to surprise me.

I despise Cheney and think he has done incaluclable harm to our country. I also think he is a war criminal. But on the burp, I think I will give him a pass.

46. yeah, along with the lying, the warmongering,
the enabling of corporate raids directly into the treasury, the imprisonment without charge or counsel, the renditions and the torture for gawdsake (and going on SIX years since 911 and to my knowledge there has been one trial of one terrorist?), the denial of the people's right to assemble peacefully and demand redress for all the wrongs, the neglect of wounded soldiers, the education program called no child left behind that apparently would more honestly be named fuck your children we have loyal morons to employ here in the bureaucracy, the bribe taking, spy outing, dirty tricks, stolen elections, native americans without potable running water while CEO's of the government within the government are pulling down millions upon millions for essentially, ripping off the public, good gawd i cannot list all the ills all the crimes all the wrongs, and they've infiltrated it appears every fucking office engaged in public service and/or the business of keeping this country a going concern, from mass media to the supreme court to US attorneys, the senate the house of representatives, the department of justice and other sundry agencies they made up along the way. the failures of intelligence, defense, diplomacy, and crisis response, the callous disregard for anyone and anything that might impede their stampede on democracy and their assault on civil liberties, their habit of running every fact through the neocon spin machine and saying back is front black is white down is up in is out dark is light ignorance is wisdom peace is war (i think bush actually did say something very close to exactly that), life is death and politics is just the only thing that matters, and we'll be greeted as liberators, mccain that asshole in a flak jacket pretending he's at an outdoor market somewhere safe when any person who has just a tiny thirst for the truth knows that war is not a safe place, extending the tours of the military so they have the bodies to absorb the bullets and the bombs even as their contractors are inside the green zone, again, robbing us blind, bleeding us dry, with their mercenaries making in one or two days what the soldiers will earn for the month or about that, and all just to make sure the profits accrue, all the secrecy all the criminal treasonous murderous outrageous deeds, misdeeds, nondeeds, of this administration,

they have also lowered the bar of civilization to somewhere underground when it comes to public discourse. they are transparent in my opinion insofar as they do not seem to even give lip service or the outward appearance of having any respect for protocols (is that the right word). they are not very careful when choosing their words, and if there's a backlash they simply deny having said it.

the vice president flips off congress and belches on national television (oh, does this not hark back to daddy-o yacking on the japanese prime minister when he was in office?). the president tries to give the german chancellor a back rub out of the blue. he is overheard telling a companion that a member of congress - correct me on this, it was before the 2000 election i believe - is an asshole. the vice president gets drunk, shoots a companion in the face and tells the local police to fuck off until he's good and ready to talk to them...they don't want to swear to anything or talk to congress or to the people they purportedly serve. so much for decorum, dignity, courtesy, respect. that was yesterday's heads of state.

i wonder if he was embarrassed. if he tried to squelch it and it just kinda happened anyway. but i doubt it. it is becoming clear to me that the current administration has undergone a more or less total disconnect from reality - or perhaps i have.
