G20 protests and (Don't you dare) Audit the Fed

Just a short post. Why did the police use a sound cannon on citizens for the first time, today, of all days?

Apparently, today was the first day of Audit the Fed hearings, and I thought it curious that it hadn't been reported on DU. I won't give a link, just go to your favorite news search engine for HR 1207. Mostly its being reported on RW sites.

Could the sound cannon's first use "today" be "a message" to all of us: "don't audit the Fed"?
