When was the last documented lynching in the US?
Michael Donald in 1981? Or James Byrd Jr. in 1998 (maybe that doesn't count as a technical lynching, but it was a racially motivated brutal murder)?

1. Don't know, but we had a threat of one in Santee, CA a year or so ago;

students threatened a black staff member or administrator. No charges filed; the man was too afraid to come forward.

This is an area with white supremacist gangs; locals call it Klan-Tee.

4. Santee?
Ugh, that's definitely Klan! My second (Or third? Maybe even fourth.) cousin attended meetings and rallies in the area. My father put him in charge of me a few times and was forced to tag along. Even got to meet Tom Metzger once! Disgusting excuse for a human being.

Knowing the mindset of those I came in contact with, I find the sickening current event no suicide.

8. I'm actually in OC.
The third or fourth cousin is near Santee. That is, until he kicked the bucket.

2. Apparantly September 12, 2009
This lynching follows the same pattern of other lynchings. It was aimed at a federal workers in general and census workers specifically, because they are what cry baby conservatrives see as the tip of the socialist spear.

6. I consider Matthew Shepherd to have been "lynched"

Tied to a post and left to die is not any less cruel than a literal hanging.
