Is the FARC-EP a terrorist group or a legitimate military force?

I don't know a whole lot about the history of the FARC-EP. From what I've read, it certainly has a long list of human rights violations. But then again, so does the US armed forces.


Are they a true rebel army? Or just an overinflated terrorist group?

1. It's a civil war. The FARC have only tried to protect their lands.

The Colombian paramilitaries are mass murders and rapers of children. There is nothing but lies told about Latin America in the US press.
