I had been thinking about posting about this issue since Friday. I am not trying to say that Iran could not have had a secret plant, but I do wonder how secret this plant really was. On Friday Matt Lauer was asking another reporter why the Obama Administration did not expose Iran during the UN summit if they knew about this secret plant. The reporter replied that the Obama Administration had only found out about a letter Iran had written to the IAEA on Monday. The reporter went on to say that Europe had also known about this plant. The reporter claimed what prompted the Obama Administration to report about the plant was the fact that the Iranian government informed the IAEA of the plant.
So does anyone know what the rules are concerning when countries are required to report on nuclear plants? Is it at all possible that Iran reported the plant when they were supposed to.
