can someone help me understand...
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 10:45 AM by hiphopnation
why congressional dems can't just ram a bill through with public option? what is this consensus building crap with lawmakers who could give a damn about the plight of the average working person? what is this party with which I find myself affiliated? This is a party that has a majority in both chambers of congress and a president in the exec. branch, and all this pussyfooting and mealy-mouthed "debate" over the public option. RAM. IT. THE. FUCK. THROUGH. Opposition be damned! Please explain to me, like I'm four years old, why that cannot be done right now? This whole charade, this sham, is making me ill. And I partly blame Obama. Poor plan, poor execution, poor timing, and not nearly forceful enough. GAAAAAAAARRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Thank you.

3. right
get the ones that will, coax and cajole the ones that are on the fence, until you've a fillibuster proof majority. lack of leadership is what this party is suffering, funny that didn't change after 1/20/09...

2. They feel like they would lose the blue dogs and they think that the American people
wouldn't support them in the midterms. The first may be true, the later is more irrational worry, in my opinion.

5. Yeah - It's my sense (hope) that once this gets into the swing of things the
Americans who are against it will begin to reap the benefits and then change their minds, ensuring good midterms (if we can get something actually in the works by then) -- like they now love Medicare.

4. You really need to understand how many Democrats are bought and
paid for by the health industry.

Politicians have one goal and one goal only. To get reelected. And that takes a lot of money.

Far too many Democrats have opted to accept that money from health and health related industries.

It's no secret who they are. And in 2010, let's put up Dems to run against them and throw their sorry asses into the gutter. They can buy all the lies and propaganda they want to. But their vote on health care will tell us everything we need to know about them.
