Sen. Hatch is arguing that PO will lead to Single Payer and Single Payer will destroy America
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 10:40 AM by berni_mccoy
Right now, during Senate Finance Committee hearing on the Public Option.

I can't believe he is even making this argument.

They are demonizing Single Payer and using that as the reason to argue against a PO.

Someone needs to call them on this b.s.

4. Right now, Bob Menendez is arguing FOR a public option.
He is refuting Hatch's claims ("absurd") says a public option plan has overwhelming support. We should give the people what they're asking for.

6. Single payer WILL destroy America.....
The America HE knows, the one controlled by the insurance corporations, the America where HE gets whatever he wants at the expense of everyone else. So yes, he is right, it WILL destroy America.....but that would be a good thing, right?

9. It WOULD destroy America. The America that gas-bags like Hatch want and that's killing people.
But isn't that what being a 'conservative' is all about?

Everything is FINE. Why fix something if it's not broken?

12. 2-3 weeks ago, I sent a letter to Hatch
extolling the virtues of Public Option and the wants and desires of the majority of Americans for that one decent product. I just got a letter back from him last night. I got to the first line of the second paragraph and as soon as I read the words, "I couldn't disagree with you more on single payer option..." I simply shredded the rest of the two page letter. In no way was I going to read the rest of his drivvel.

13. Well, if he really feels that way, then he should have no
problem giving up his own goddamned socialized health care plan, paid for by WE the PEOPLE, many of whom, including yours truly and hubby, don't have their own insurance and who will be royally screwed financially for the rest of our lives if something happens to us now. And if you're over forty, forget about getting any kind of decent individual plan, it ain't gonna happen. They don't want you. Let Hatch deal with the private companies on his own, like too many of the rest of us have to do; he'll find out real quick just who the REAL "deathers" are.

I just can't believe that, in late 2009, we're still arguing over whether or not to ensure that all citizens have access to decent health care and won't be bankrupted or financially ruined for years just because of an illness. Then again.......maybe I CAN believe it.
