(PICS) Thousands in Berkeley Mobilize to Save Public Education in California
On Thursday, September 24th, an estimated five thousand people attended a rally on Sproul Plaza at the University of California, Berkeley. The rally and subsequent march through campus and downtown Berkeley—scheduled to coincide with and planned in support of the University of California (UC) Faculty Walkout that took place on all ten UC campuses—brought together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, university workers and alumni to protest the budget cuts at Berkeley and stand up for public education across California...

1. Glad to see my alma mater swinging into action...
It would not have been my alma mater, of course, if these current "public education" rates had applied then...

Though I was there during the switch from Carter to Reagan, and almost immediately, the counselors said they noticed a cutback in available financial aid...

And of course, it's only gotten worse, since...

2. Do you remember the "Reagan Refugees" streaming out of California college campuses
after Lord Ronnie became governor and decided nobody needed more than a two-year junior college degree, and therefore the entire University of California higher education system should be defunded.

Unbelievable animosity toward higher education radiated from that regime.
