Why does Baucus still chair a committee in the Democratic Party?

It isn't something that the people elected him to...and with power comes privilege..he needs to be exactly what he was elected. ONE voice in a sea of 50 voices with his agenda being extended to the ONE vote he was given.
WHY THE FUCK hasn't he been stripped of his committee assignment and the position given to a REAL Democrat?
