And, tell them that you are going to make it your goal to defeat them in their next election. Let them know that you are going to personally donate your blogging and fund raising efforts to defeat them in the primaries. Tell them that they are going to be held to account for this and their votes today against a p.o. will follow them through the next election.

They think they are safe because of all the corporate money they have to run their campaigns? Tell them they may have money, but they have lost the American people.

Fuck them

1. I wrote this letter to Sen. Lincoln on Sept. 3. And unsubscribed from her sites today.
Senator Lincoln,

Congratulations on your new title, Queen of Cash from the Health Industry. After months of deceptively hinting at support for a real health care reform, including a public option, we are greeted by your sudden change of opinion yesterday.

I am so glad that your campaign is raking in this kind of money from the for-profit health insurance industry. Hopefully, they will more than make up for the lack of private contributions you will be receiving from Arkansas Democrats.

I feel you have betrayed my trust by your failure to support the 2008 Democratic Party Platform. You stand in opposition to our Democratic President.
I can think of no reason for my continued support of you.

How many votes will you receive from Blue Cross Blue Shield or Wellpoint? I know none will come from me or my family.

History will show that you voted often with the George W. Bush crowd, adding almost $5 trillion to the national debt, but when it comes to spending less than $1 trillion over 10 years on the common people, we "can't afford it."

I'm including this blog from Huffington Post. It is but one of many. Please note that we, Arkansans, are not clueless and understand that you've been 'bought' and that you'd rather represent business than people.

September 3, 2009

BLANCHE LINCOLN IS THE QUEEN OF CASH FROM THE HEALTH INDUSTRY The Sunlight Foundation's Paul Blumenthal reports that Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) has taken more money in campaign contributions from the health industry than any of her Democratic peers in 2009. According to data from the Center for Responsive Politics, Lincoln benefited from $325,350 in contributions from the health industry in the first half of 2009.

"The large amount in contributions underlies a constantly shifting position by the senator on health care reform," notes Blumenthal. Lincoln sits on the Senate Finance Committee, the lone panel that has so far failed to get its act together on health care reform legislation.

Lincoln told the Huffington Post's Ryan Grim in May that she was open to a public option. "We're looking at that option to see if it's going to be competitive and, you know, if it's going to be productive," she said. "I'm still open minded."

On Tuesday, Lincoln revealed that her mind had apparently closed. "I would not support a solely government-funded public option. We can't afford that," she said, according to Arkansas News.

The Sunlight Foundation's got the goods on the tangled web of staffers-turned-lobbyists who help the industry funnel money to Lincoln and her colleagues. For more, including a helpful chart, go here.

I really rambled... lol. I think I need to prepare myself better for the next two calls. I don't know if it's good or bad that these calls are being made immediately after my call to AT&T to complain about them selling me a service that they can't even provide me so the senators will be getting some residual disgust added in for good measure.

I'M FIRED UP!!!

If I were Blanche Lincoln or one of her minions, I'd feel like shit after reading that. As well they should.

10. Tried To Call
I was unable to reach Baucus or Conrads office because of their busy lines. Will keep trying and we really need to flood these phone lines. Reached Lincolns voice mail and the message left was I will donate to whomever runs against her and I am an out of state voter.

12. DONE! Called Baucus's office. Was very polite but told the receptionist that Americans
of all political stripes support the public option. Told her that we are well aware that Baucus receives ridiculous amounts of contributions from Big Pharma and health insurance giants. Told her that we will work hard to defeat Baucus when he runs again.

Conrad's line was busy.

Lincoln is a coward! Her phone just kept ringing. No one answered.

19. As angry as I am, and I do want them out, how would their 3 votes have really
changed the 15-8 that occurred? Seems that would have only made it 12-11 which is still a no vote on PO. Who else voted no that was a democrat? All I've seen posted here on DU is regarding these 3.

Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 03:56 PM by t0dd
It was 15-8 against the Rockefeller public option. It was 13-10 against the Schumer amendment. Carper and Nelson supported it. All the blame falls on these three.

22. There were 2 PO amendments today
Schumer's was voted down 13-10 by Lincoln, Baucus and Conrad.

Rockefeller's was voted down 15-8 by the above 3 plus Nelson and Carper.

any longer if Schumer's passed as it was not what I think we need.

20. I will call, but which of the two numbers is the campaign
number? Would prefer to call there, as suggested above. Sorry, working on something right now so don't have much time to google, but will definitely call regardless ~

K&R for important topic. These traitors to their base need to go although I'm sure they will be highly rewarded for helping to bail out the Insurance Industry. It will be tough to overcome the smear campaign that will be launched against anyone who challenges them paid for by their bosses.

32. Got through to Blanche Lincoln's campaign office.
Very polite conversation on both ends. The person who answered the call gave me time to explain why I was calling. she did ask what state I was in. I said while I was not in her state, this was not a state issue as it affects everyone. She agreed ~ but 'just wanted to know the state'. I did get to say what I wanted to say, that the perception of Dems right now is that they do not work for the people, but for Corporations etc. She listened and seemed interested. I mentioned that people feel betrayed as the Sen. was positive towards the PO which was a compromise to begin with, when she ran for office. She did not dispute that.

Anyhow, she took my info, although I did not have to give it if anyone feels they would rather not and said she would pass the information along.

That's only likely to matter if they get enough calls though.

33. I am very blunt. I do not insult or attack, but I do let them know my anger

And, my disgust.

My questions are directly related to the actions of the Senator. For example, Lincoln has received more money from the health care industry then all the others. I ask how she can accept that kind of money and serve the interests of the people. And, so on.

They never have any answers.

They will be nice. They will try to hear you and make you feel like you were listened to....

I am not interested in playing those games. I tell them exactly what I intend to do to unseat the Senator next election, if they continue down this road and they know I mean it.

Thanks for calling, btw.
