as a later amendment or a bill unto itself? this may be a stupid question.

3. There will be 5 bills considered in reconciliation

4 have public option and 1 does not.


Everything will be mashed together for a final bill.


Then in the Senate they have to get 60 votes to vote for cloture and 50 votes on the bill.


So the answer is - its still has a good chance to pass.

4. Of course.
It could be a completely separate bill to the main 'health care reform' legislation.

But the Rethugs would just threaten to fillibuster it and Harry Reid would then let it die without even calling their bluff, just as with everything else.

5. Yes, there is the Kennedy bill in the Senate.
Plus any bill can be amended.

Then there is what will come out of the House.
