age. The victim at 13 looked much older. Many girls enter puberty as early as 9 or 10 and can make themselves appear 18 when they are only 13 or 14. I believe the victim falls into that category. Her modelling shots make her look like she is in her 20s. It would have been to her advantage because it would have given her more modelling opportunities.

None of this is to excuse Polanski's behavior toward his victim. "No" still means "no" even if you think the person saying it is 18 rather than 13.
