Fuck you Baucus, Conrad, and Nelson; you bastards are my brother's death panel.
My brother has a chronic liver problem. Because of it, he can not been able to purchase any of the health insurance he will need to live to an old age, and left untreated, it will most likely cause his death in the near future. They will not let him purchase any type of coverage because of it, for any price.

He will die a premature death, and the truly horrendous part is, that it is a treatable condition.

Fuck you Senate blue dogs, and GOP...you evil bought and paid for shills, are his death panel.

2. I want the PO too but voting against the PO doesn't mean
the laws requiring all ins. co's to insure people with pre existing conditions has gone away. It's still there and part of every HC plan in the house & senate. I don't know when these things are scheduled to become law, but they will help your brother even IF the PO is not part of the final bill.

6. Mandating coverage for pre-existing conditions means little .....
.....when theres no public option to foster enough competition to force the cost of the insurance to be low enough to be affordable by those already underwater from those same pre-existing conditions.

3. I hope that any bill getting to Obama's desk would ban pre-existing condition discrimination.
So while I'm hopeful that your brother would be allowed to buy health insurance, without the public option I'm doubtful he could afford it.

I'm very sorry for your family's struggle with this. Liver failure is horrible.

5. My husband almost had to pay $40,000 for radiation treatment
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 09:32 PM by Rosa Luxemburg
we kicked up such a stink that the hospital and HMO were glad to cover my husband. They said that there was a caveat that this type of treatment didn't fall into the criteria! The hospital made him wait 8 weeks with stege 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the base of the tongue for his radiation treatment. In other countries he would have been treated right away. He is in remission now but thanks to our lovely healthcare system he could have been treated earlier. They damaged his accessory nerve and his trapezius muscle is in constant spasm and the rest of the area that he was radiated is degenerating including his jaw and gums!

10. We're MAD AS HELL
And we're not going to take anymore of this Bluedog bullshit.

Those scumbags don't have a clue about the lives of ordinary working people.

They don't care how many people suffer and die in America because they don't have health care.

They've got insurance -- why should they care about the have-nots?

The days of reckoning are coming.

12. Please write to every one of them. I called the whole fucking panel today
and will do so every single day until this changes.

I, like you, am livid.

I am losing my health insurance because my husband was force to change jobs. His new company has the world's worst HMO - a plan where I once sued two doctors for malpractice. I live in fear of having to see one of those doctors again, knowing that they are dangerous quacks who got away with their crimes only because I ran out of money to pay lawyers. The jawbone infection they caused by cutting my mouth open to the bone ramming a breathing tube down against my will during "routine" sinus surgery (after I insisted rightfully that the IV had been poked all the way THROUGH my vein) turned into a flesh-eating bacteria infection. But they wouldn't even prescribe an antibiotic. My dentist finally did. Then the bastards tried to talk an oral surgeon out of surgery, a records search revealed, because they didn't want to be held financially responsible for the damage they caused. This delayed surgery 2 more weeks while I found a surgeon who wasn't spinless.

By the time I got the surgery to fix their error, they had to cut between every tooth on my mouth, roll the flesh/gums back and hack away bone. I had so much pain I wound up in the ER with my arms numb from an electrolyte imbalance because i couldn't eat. Of course I couldn't wear the retainer left from after I'd had braces, so my teeth got crooked in the next few weeks and are so crooked still I hate to look in the mirror.

I had to pay for the life-saving surgery out of pocket, since oral surgery wasn't covered by this so-called health insurance. All I asked of these butchers was to pay for the surgery and pay for braces to restraighten my teeth, never mind all the pain and suffering they caused. The bastards refused and I couldn't afford the lawyer fees, so they got away with this.

I live in fear of having another sinus problems and being forced to go to the same doctor again, or having surgery (where you don't know which anesthesiologist you'll get) and winding up with the monster who did this to me.

We need a public option for people like me who have insurance, but it's so terrible that anything would be better!!!!!

Please folks, call these sons of bitches, plaster their posters across their districts, email their constituents, write letters to editors of newspapers in their districts, do whatever it takes! If you live in their districts, organize marches, rallies outside their offices. BITCH LIKE HELL UNTIL THIS CHANGES! Also stage protests outside the insurance companies that bought their votes!!!!!
