Andreozzi explores Italian history of Lackawanna
By Harold McNeil1

John Andreozzi left the region more than 30 years ago but always maintained a deep affinity for his roots, both in Italy and Lackawanna.

It is what propelled the West Seneca native to devote nearly two decades to combing through news documents, collecting photographs and conducting about 350 interviews for his book “The Italians of Lackawanna, N. Y.: Steelworkers, Merchants and Gardners.”

He has been working on this book since when I met my wife's family for the 1st time...

1. Hey, that's cool
So many stories from Italian immigrants in western NY. My family keeps trying to get me to write our history (my mom's parents came to this area from Sicily at the turn of the century, and my dad's parents, also from Sicily, settled in Pennsylvania and worked in the coal mines). Good for Uncle John! :applause:
