Name one thing you DON'T like about your favorite candidate
Even your favorite candidate must have done something you don't care for. Please name one thing you wish your candidate hadn't done or a problem you have with one of their stances.

Be honest now! Don't use this as an opportunity to bash other candidates.

I will start:

I am probably going to vote for either Wes Clark or Al Gore if Al Gore runs. The ONLY problem I have with Wes Clark is his stance on depleted uranium in conventional weapons. He says DU (depleted uranium) is not a hazard but I have talked to Chemistry professors and seen articles that say otherwise. I think the dust from DU when breathed in can be very dangerous and I would like to see it taken out of conventional weapons. I am not happy with the answers Wes Clark has given on this subject and wish he would revisit it.

Please don't turn this into a depleted uranium debate. If you want to debate DU then start another thread.

This is what makes us different than Republicans. We are willing to look at our faults and NOT walk in lock step with our candidate on every issue.

Thanks, your turn!

1. Don't have one yet.
Hoping a stronger personality comes forward. If I had to choose right now it would be Barack Obama, however I feel his inexperience is his weakness.

The ones so far, all have plusses & minuses (as eveyone does)

Whomever emerges will get my vote.

I'm still weighing my options, and waiting to for the field to be set. A hierarchy is starting to emerge though.

2. Same ones as you. Clark - the burning flag thinghie. Gore - dropped out in 2003
and wasn't forthright with the then draft movement (i.e - his people were egging us on, he was saying "what draft?)

I think as a General it would be hard to be for burning the flag. He is still wrong though.

campaign, and NOT against the other Dems either! The one who is the most angry with the state of our Country, and proposing things to improveit will win my vote. I don't expect to agree with EVERYTHING any candidate does or says. If I did, they're would be something wrong with ME!

12. I love Clark, but what is he waiting for?
With so many candidates already raising money and getting tons of press, I am afraid if he does decide to run, it will be too late, like last time.

I really thought he had four years to prepare for a more forceful and aggressive campaign. Hmmm....

In the meantime, where do all the cool, intellectual, liberal, single (and cute) people in Indy hang out? ;)

We aren't good about getting get togethers going - but i will be suicidal (or close to it) if you were to leave before we get to toast, roast and shake our heads at the whole state of affairs again.

Hope you know how much I appreciate you - even if the majority of our interaction is here on the DU Boards. :toast:

Some days I would add: Wes, announce already! But he says he has work to do regarding Iran that he does not want politicized. I know he is involved in some big national security conference soon that is part of why he holds back. That's just how he is, though. Still, I get so antsy.

42. Right at this moment
I prefer to offer positive, assertive arguments for various (or certain) Dem candidates.

The shitsmears will be presented by the other side (and obviously by ours too), either way.

I will NOT participate in the shitsmears of our candidates. I WILL present argument in favor of my candidate without shitsmearing the others... because that 'other Dem' may end up being our candidate.

I will not do the GOP's work for them.

40. maybe because it has all the hallmarks of being politically expedient
We can't see inside his heart to see what he really thinks. But lets be real here. If a politician that you didn't like had done a 180 on an issue like this a couple of months before announcing for President, you would surely be skeptical of his or her motives. Add in a downright ludricrious explanation (that only in 2002 did women he knew convince him of the importance of abortion) and frankly it is hard to come to any other conclusion.
