Just got my annual renewal notice for Medicaid. It contains the requisite 'notice of privacy practices' (per HIPPA). That notice lists 13 scenarios under which Medicaid is allowed to 'share' my health information. Number 13 reads:
"National Security and Intelligence Activities: We may share your health information to authorized federal officials for activities related to national security and special investigations."
This originates at the Department of Health and Human Services, and I queried it a couple of years ago and never got an answer. Do you suppose that a new administration might be able to give me an answer?
