Tiger mauls man at Canada zoo after Idiot broke in & scaled fence
CALGARY, Alberta - A man who broke into the Calgary Zoo early Monday and scaled a fence around a tiger exhibit was hospitalized with serious injuries after he was attacked by a tiger.

Zoo spokesman Grahame Newton said two men, both 27, broke into the zoo at around 1 a.m. by scaling an 8-feet-high main fence topped with barbed wire.

Newton said one man climbed an outer safety fence around the tiger enclosure. A Siberian tiger, a 2-year-old male named Vitali, hooked the man with a claw and pulled the man's arm through the inner fence.

Police were investigating and said they are considering charges of breaking and entering. They haven't determined whether alcohol was involved.

1. Seriously, why do people keep doing this? If they have to kill an
animal over this, we need to make the punishment/fine more severe. Like working at the zoo and cleaning up poo for 10 years.

10. Must say, I worked at a zoo for years and cleaned up poo and loved it.
Yes, I shoveled monkey shit, bear shit, deer shit, bobcat shit, lots of shit. I also sat on the monkey island with a bucket of donuts while an old spider monkey put her arm around me as she picked through the bucket and another one hung from a wire and pulled at my hair. I got chased by a black bear cub, butted in the head by a mountain sheep, and kicked by a deer. I had a prairie dog crawl up the sleeve of my jacket. I gave catnip to the bobcat and watched her roll around in it like a house cat.

Lots of interesting experiences working at the zoo and I did like it. I should have stayed because I would have become the head zookeeper in what has now become a multi-million dollar eco-park. But I was young and stupid.

16. LOL...ok now I'm just jealous. What would be something these
idiots could do for the zoo as punishment that would help the zoo and provide some punishment?

7. No worse than the woman who got killed by her pet bear in a 15'x15' cage.
The abject imbeciles will remove themselves from society in many cases through their own stupidity.

9. Unbelievable. He went way out of his way to get mauled.
Did it not even cross his pea brain that the animal might not be all that pleased to see him?
