Once again - I call for Rahm Emanuel's resignation
and replaced with someone who'll relay what the PROGRESSIVES needs, not some DLC/Blue Dogs crap. I don't care of Rahm gets the Democrats together - he's not the won who won the elections for the Democrats - it was Howard Dean, and if the bill comes out with no Public Option and Obama doesn't veto it, I'm done with Obama, and going to support a draft Dean movement to get what we need.

7. I'm hoping Rahm wants to do something else, like manage a
ballet troupe or something - then when that happens, Obama will hire Dr. Dean.

whose presence was not sanctioned by the junkyard owner.

26. I think we're finally starting to find out now just exactly who "owns" this junkyard.
And it ain't We The People or even our elected representatives, including middle management (aka Rahm's immediate supervisor).

20. Spot on
Rahm is very good at what he does...and I believe he was hired not so much to fend off the right, but to keep certain elements of the left in check.

He doesn't seem to be good at it at all. We fucking hate him. How does that keep us in check?

31. Liking him is not necessary...in fact, it's counterproductive.
Imagine that the Obama presidency is a party. Obama's enemies are invited, but they're less likely to be a pain in his ass than his "friends". Rahm is the bouncer that keeps people (especially "friends") at arm's length while Obama works the room.

I actually think that Rahm is one of the few good decisions Obama has made.

DNCers in all 50 states credit Dean. And his reversal of McAuliffe's wasteland era.

21. Rec #11. I was hating Rahm Emmanuel long before hating Rahm Emmanuel was cool.
Like, YEARS ago. Slimy DLC prick. My 83 year old dad -- WWII veteran, lifelong Democrat, union man -- hates him, too. AND swears he will re-register as a Green next election if the Dems don't pass a decent Health Care bill with a REAL public option.

22. I'm with you, Hawk
i shudder to think what will happen to our Dem party gains if health care passes with a weak or no public option and a mandate to buy insurance from for profit companies.
