Poll: Carnahan Leads Blunt (MO 2010 Senate race)
Carnahan leads 48-45.

Much of the internals are about what you would expect. Carnahan enjoys greater support among Democrats and women, but trails Blunt among Republicans and men.

Also, as has been noted in previous polls, Carnahan's favorable/unfavorable ratings are stronger than Blunt's.

The poll was conducted September 15-19. 802 Missouri voters with a +/- 3.5%.

4. Yes, mine too.
Blunt has not run state-wide, and baby Blunt (his son) did so badly as Governor, he did not run again, as he was sure to lose.

Robin is better known, as she has won state-wide office.

She has a history of doing great home-spun tv spots, too. I know that is superficial, but it helps in rural MO.

7. mine, too, but....
...she's still got a tough road ahead. Threre's a lot of right-wing rednecks in outstate areas who will toe the NRA line, and the NRA supports Blunt. Robin was strongly against Prop B in '99 and these nuts won't forget...

5. Who is the incumbent?
It is Kit Bond's Senate (R) seat---he is retiring.

Blunt is our lowly Repuke Rep in the 7th District of SW MO.

Robin is MO Secretary of State

8. No problem. I wouldn't know this except I have a direct interest in this race.
I have to live with the fact that Blunt is MY Rep. I really don't think he can win statewide, as he is so reprehensible, that once people of MO get to know him, only the racist reich-wing fundy- loonies of really rural and Southwest MO would think he was a good thing.

10. Jean is her mom.

Russ, who is a Representative from South St. Louis, is her brother.

Jean should not have been thrust into the Senate right after Mel and son Randy's death in the plane crash. Jean was not prepared for it, and was ill served by those who surrounded her. I worked in her local Senate office here in Springfield at the time of the Iraq war resolution, and begged her not to vote for it---but alas, she did. I think that caused enough defection from Democrats to cause her to lose her re-election bid.

I think Robin is more like her dad, Mel. She is fiery and more independent.

My daughter and her boyfriend (now husband of several years) attended UMR in Rolla back in the early 90's, and knew the Carnahan kids, as they flew out of Vichy airport(near Rolla, MO) a lot. My son-in-law did flight instruction in his spare time while going to UMR, and my daughter flew in her spare time, as well. She was in AFROTC at the time.

11. Here's hoping that lead fattens and that Blunt is crushed to bits in the
general.
