What are some bipartisan disasters?
I know/hope the admin is moving beyond bipartisanship and pursuing good legislation instead of wanting shit legislation with a few token republicans instead. But bipartisanship is not in and of itself a good thing. What are some examples of legislation that totally fucked the nation and the world that were bipartisan?

Iraq war resolution - led to Iraq war
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act - helped collapse the economy
Gulf of Tonkin Resolution - started the Vietnam war in earnest and was based on an iffy situation
PATRIOT ACT - restricted civil liberties when we had enough warnings about 9/11 to stop it, but didn't care enough to listen

Bipartisanship is not automatically a good thing.

3. Help America Vote Act 2002
resulted in a spread of paperless voting dependent on private vendor owned software in many states.

4. I think the best example is McCarthyism.

Fear defeated rational thought and both parties cooperated with HUAC.

Finally it was Eisenhower who hit back when McCarthy went after the Army.

6. When one side has an absolutely shitty idea
And the other tries to be "bipartisan", so it's only half-shitty.

This does not work in real life.

Republican: Hey, let's drink a shitload of tequila and go reshingle the roof.
Democrat: No, that's a dumbass idea. Let's just go reshingle the roof.
Republican: Okay, let's reach a bipartisan solution.
Democrat: Sure.
Republican: Let's go smoke a shitload of pot and go reshingle the roof.
Democrat: It's still a dumbass idea!
Republican: You fucking partisan! I'm offering a compromise!
Republican cheerleaders: You're a fucking partisan! Take the compromise!
Democrat: Alright! Alright! We'll smoke pot and go shingle the roof!

45 minutes later, Saint Mary's Hospital emergency room

Democrat: I told you this was a dumbass idea.
Republican: Hey, we're equally at fault.
Democrat: Fuck you. And stop bleeding on me.
Republican: Wuss. If you're spine wasn't broken I'd kick your ass, ruptured femoral artery or no.
