More flooding in ATL...if you can believe it
Get ready along Big Creek near Alpharetta and Roswell. Big Creek rose four feet in two hours and is now at flood stage and is predicted to crest near 10.3'. If you live along the Big Creek basin...get ready...

Lord knows when this is going to end...thanks a ton Stooksbury (UGA climatologist who six months ago said the drought would continue).

1. Peachtree Creek is high too
This morning driving over the creek (when it crosses below Piedmont) it was very high already (with several trees well under water). With all the rain expected today and the next few days, we could have some more issues.

Hopefully, folks are a little more prepared this time.

3. Pouring right now and I hear the sump pump going. Damned old houses!
When we get rain like this I get some water in the basement. Fortunately, it's nothing but storage, etc. down there ... creepy! But when it's like this, it gets wet and the OLD sump pump kicks into action.

4. Good luck Curt!
My office is downtown and with the rain hitting my window right now, it sounds like I am driving through a car wash.

In fact we have heavier rains headed toward us even as I type this.

Here is the latest radar scan, it looked a lot like this a few weeks ago.

8. I live about 3 mins. from Lanier. I suspect it's close to FP
now. I haven't checked the level on the net in a few weeks, but from it's appearance, it looks like the laake is almost full.

9. 1069.93 last i looked
odd to see it full! we drive over Buford Dam at least a couple of times a week and my girls play a little game of 'guess the lake level.' They think it is hilarious that there is a Dam Store with Dam Good Food...go figure...they're 4 and 6!

there is a quote from Finding Nemo that keeps running through my head...just keep swimming...

12. heaven forbid someone believes THAT is why it is raining :-)
thanks for the well wishes. our little hovel/home is well above any flooding concerns...but our church just spent the last two weekends helping folks with their flood damage from the last deluge.
