Gale force winds on Puget Sound tonight
Edited on Fri Oct-30-09 10:01 PM by pscot
It's blowing a steady 35 to 40 mph out on Admiralty Inlet right now, with gusts as high as 55mph. We'll probably lose power tonight.

1. For the record....
I think you mean "gale". Whereabouts do you live in the Puget Sound area? One of my favorite areas of the country.

2. Corrected on edit
Thanks. I'm on Whidbey. We lose power up here whenever someone sneezes.

3. Damn, I love Whidbey Island....
however, I had a cold when I stayed there one weekend. I couldn't figure out why the lights kept going out.

I envy you.

4. I'm in North Kitsap and it blew a lot this afternoon (lights blinked) but
we seem to be in a lull right now. I expect it will pick up again shortly--just opened the door and it is getting breezy out there again.

I don't want to lose power!

5. It's very windy up here right now, too.
It must be the same weather pattern.

7. The pineapple express
There's a lot of dirty weather in the north Pacific right now; the remains of hurricane Neki have been sloshing around out there. That may be what you're seeing.

8. This wind is coming out of the north
so it's cold. Usually when we get the Pineapple Express it comes out of the southeast and is warm. Maybe these are two different weather patterns. Do you have clouds or clear?

6. It's also very windy in Seattle, though not as bad as you've got it.
Batten down the hatches, pscot!
