1. I voted Obama and I'm glad
Am I happy with everything he has done... or not done? No, I'm not. Yet... I still feel I made the best choice available.

In the meantime, I'll hold Obama to his promises.

37. I second that.
Obama is a drastic improvement over what we had, but if we had Kucinich there would certainly be no accusations of cozy relations with AIG and Larry Summers would still be working on Wall Street. And we'd be exiting from Afghanistan

3. I voted for Obama because Howard Dean wasn't on the ballot
I would have never voted for Hillary, for a number of reasons. The top two were 1) Clinton DLC retreads in the cabinet 2) Mandatory corporate health insurance.

Ironic, huh? :evilfrown:

I voted for Obama in the general election.

I have no regrets.

I wish some people would stop implying that those who supported Clinton in the primaries are only half-hearted supporters of Obama.

I have no regrets either. I continue to admire the Secretary of State, and I believe President Obama is doing the best he is able given the circumstances he inherited.

If things are not showing a good improvement by the time 2012 comes along, I may.....may.....rethink that...but not now.

On edit: I supported Obama in the primary but ultimately didn't vote (in the primary) because I was focused on finishing my last year of engineering school and I missed the deadline for absentee ballots.

13. I voted Obama in both the primary and the GE
I voted for him because I knew the Clinton's are too close to corporate interests, and I expected him to be far tougher on cleaning up the corporate corruption of the Bush years.

The joke was on me as soon as he brought in the same people to handle the economy that caused me to refuse to vote for Hillary.

I'm glad things worked out the way they did. Looking back, I think I was more in favor of having Elizabeth for a First Lady than I was for having JE as Prez. Elizabeth is a class act.

35. What would be the major differences in policy between palin and obama?
End the wars? Don't think so.

Banking industry regulation? Obviously not a priority.

Universal healthcare or public option? Pfft. Don't hold your breath.

Energy policy that creates millions of new green jobs? If it goes the same way as healthcare did, with the oil and coal companies being the only ones at the table then we're gonna be drill-baby-drillin our way to a destroyed planet and an eternity of SUVs.

If Palin keeps her promises like Obama does, then we'd be better off with her.

This is just plain divisive.

Criticism of Obama is completely appropriate. To bring Clinton, or any other former candidate into the debate gets off issues and on to inciting gang warfare between the fan clubs.

Shame on you.

48. It is so funny that almost double the DUers voted
and are happy Obama is our President, yet most of those that registered their complaints of him on the thread are the ones who don't support him anymore. The loud minority versus the silent majority. I voted for him in both the primary and the general and if he continues in the vein that he has, I will vote for him in 2012. He has more than lived up to what can reasonably be expected considering the political atmosphere he is dealing with.

64. A method of collecting data (like a poll) is not valid or invalid. Specific conclusions based on the
method can have varying degrees of validity. Note that the only conclusion I stated (in an earlier reply) was that a little over half the respondents are happy to have voted for Obama in the primaries. It's hard to argue that that is an invalid statement.
