For those who still try to claim that marriage is not a right
"The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Marriage is one of the "basic civil rights of man," fundamental to our very existence and survival."

From Loving Vs. Virginia, decided by the USSC in 1967.

In other words, the paragraph above is the current law of the land.

Marriage is not a "privilege" because it needs a license. Marriage is a fundamental right.

1. Splendid! Where do I sign up? And, more to the point,
who's going to want to do it with me? :spray: (I know that can be read in several ways -- but my life is not a diary meant to become a cheesy Lifetime(tm) movie of the week after-school special and I'm not going to start now! :o :P :D )

My gay father married my straight mother. No one ever tried to stop him. In fact, his priest encouraged him! And the state gave them an official wedding certificate.

But maybe that's not what you meant?
