Has ANY Republican President EVER held a Jobs Summit...
That included both CEOs and Labor/Union Leaders?

Ever?

Obama deserves praise for this.

I believe the summit was far more than a photo-op.

2. Well, if you count behind-doors favors for special interests, then yeah.
Other than defense contractors, oil companies, and other sleazy business partners, no, the GOP hasn't held a jobs summit. At least they've never done anything to help people who actually NEED jobs.

5. Why would a Republican want to hold a job summit?
They don't care about jobs. As long as their base is rollin' in it, that's all that matters.

You must have confused the GOP with someone who gives a Rat's ass... ;)

14. I have little confidence in 4 hour photo ops
particularly when most of the attendees are heavy contributors anxious to meet and schmooze with the president.

7. Hoover
In November 1929, he met with industrialists and union leaders and negotiated a deal whereby industry agreed not to reduce wages and labor unions agreed not to strike. - Hoover

12. Nixon also enjoyed union support, at least until he implemented wage and price controls
and abolished the gold standard. Both of which seem unconstitutional.
