Olbermann sucks. And he's read all three books of 'that blond's'. Coulter. :puke:

There's no cure for this, even though I tried. :(

Don't worry, he'd probably spit on Jesus in that case.

7. Yea, my first visitor, and I studiously avoided politics, even when
he told his flippin' dog to either act like the President or 'play dead'. Guess what the dog did. I didn't bite.

:grr:

5. Well, my dad and brother ganged up on me back when Reagan was
spouting his trickle down bull shit...

Little did I know it was the beginning of the end for the little guy.

Haven't for years. Word is, in addition to his politics, he has gotten pretty good at identity theft so I stay away.

9. Major splits. The male 'kids' are rethugs, both of them, and the 3 females

are liberals. Dad is also a liberal.

This brother never talked politics to me in the limited time we've been together, until tonight. Ugh.

He's in bed and we agreed to disagree, but his sources suck.

18. we agreed to disagree <- Good advice.
Edited on Fri Dec-11-09 12:05 AM by phasma ex machina
After disagreeing with someone on my side of the aisle it occurred to me that all politics is personal. Deeply personal. Witness the rifts on DU.

Family's infinitely more important than politics. Protect your familial bond at all cost.

Kill everyone who thinks differently than you, even if their family!

Grow up.

25. two things...
Edited on Fri Dec-11-09 01:03 AM by dysfunctional press
1. you might want to learn how to recognize sarcasm without the :sarcasm: smilie.
2. you might want to learn the difference between their, there, and they're, and the proper uses for each.

(don't worry too much- these are the kind of things you learn with age...nobody expects you to get it right off)

12. Intervention is out of the question...
Serious deprogramming then.

Really they have to hit rock bottom before they actually change themselves. They have to Want it.

Otherwise you will just have to let the insanity run its course.

16. My mom thinks so too, and loves Palin also
And it's hard to handle cause she used to be a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat. But she re-married a card-carrying Republican, and now refers to the Pres as "President Hussein". She thinks Sarah is a great role model, Hannity is a virtual genius, and I don't even want to know what she thinks of Beck. It's like dealing with someone who's joined a cult. I love her, but damn, it's so hard to talk to her and not get intensely frustrated. Arrghh!!

So I sympathize with you. It hurts.

24. Yes, it hurts, because he never discussed it. I had no idea how
much the kook-aid got to him. But to know that he thinks Hannity is a rocket scientist vs. Olbermann? Oy. There's no arguing with stoopid sometimes.

Otherwise, we had a nice day together.

20. sometimes KO's show does suck
mostly because his show started out as sort of infotainment in a sportscenter mold. He still has to cover worthless * he clearly doesn't want to like American Idol because of the shows format.

22. My brother is also not the smartest guy in the world.
He's the only RWer in the entire family.

Still... he's a good guy, a good father to his kids, and an awesome big brother. Sure, we occasionally spar, but I wouldn't trade him for anyone else in the world.
