Flash of brilliance (thank you DU)
This morning the rethugs were complaining about the length of the Health Care Bill.
I know this has been posted before. but when I was done with this Post I thought it was a (for me) rare flash of brilliance and Thought I would share.

It is at The Denver post. the Original Article is about how a loophole in the senate bill would still allow insurance cartels to limit coverage. As nothing would change with this crap of legislation (I say crap as it is morphing into nothing close to real reform.)
Original article

My post.

http://neighbors.denverpost.com/viewtopic....

The coverage limit "loophole" is really just the same thing as now with Insurance cartels cutting you off for actually needing their coverage. no reform there.

And yes the whole Health care Bill would be a lot shorter and just one page if it simply said.
1) Eligibility for medicare Begins at Birth.
2) Medicaid and medicare folds into the Veterans Administration, for administration and oversight.
3) Supplemental private insurance can not be denied for pre existing medical conditions.
4) Supplemental private insurance cannot be capped to time nor benefit amount payouts.
5) Prescription Drugs can be purchased in and Imported from other nations.
6) congress shall hold the Health of the nation in Highest regard. therefore funding for Medicare shall be reviewed every year with out cuts. (like the military enjoys now)
7) anyone found to be guilty of committing Medicare fraud shall spend 25-50 years incarcerated.

that was easy.

1. Or we could dump both the House and Senate thousands of pages
love letters to the health insurance and PhRMA industries and dust off John Conyer's health plan HR 676, which is the plan we should have.

Why do you hate America?

7. Because the insurers do nothing with their profits to
help sick people.

Plus I added two more to my HC bill.
numbers 8 and 9.

8) once a year health screenings mandatory.
9) Mandatory buy in from a persons 18th birthday, under penalty of Medical evasion (similar to Tax evasion)

4. The bill could be one paragraph and they would complain it was too long.
They wouldn't read it even then - Just Say NO!

5. the cost of supplemental private insurance would have to have some limitations as well...
"even though you have a pre-existing condition, we're required to sell you supplemental coverage for the 20% medicare doesn't cover, so your monthly premium will be $1000, please."

or-

they could just make medicare a single-payer system and cover 100%.

13. While they cannot discriminate against pre conds, a non-dotted i is enough for
private insurers desiring recisssion to scream fraud.

14. Oh yeah
Insurers routinely take out a claimants file and search for reasons to drop them.
this AFTER the claimant had paid premiums religiously for years...

HEALTH INSURANCE IS A SCAM!
