Judge Rejects Mandatory Condoms On LA Porn Sets

A Los Angeles judge has denied a request from an AIDS advocacy group calling for mandatory use of condoms on porn sets.

Judge David Yaffe on Tuesday rejected a petition from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation that contended county health officials hadn't done enough to prevent sexually transmitted diseases in the porn industry.

The group sued the county in July after data showed there were more than 3,700 STD cases over the past five years reported by a clinic that serves porn actors.

8. From what I've read

it's a pretty close-knit community. They have rules about being tested for HIV...they have nurses on staff.

I've read horrible stories from the women in the business. It's very depressing to me.

A lot of sick men out there who buy this stuff. Some men admit getting to the point that having a relationship with a real woman is not possible because they perceive them as just '2nd rate porn stars.'

I have stopped reading about the subject because it just makes me ill.

7. The point is that they're grown-ups and can make their own choices.

Do they put themselves at risk?

Yes.

So do NASCAR drivers.

So do skydivers.

What about married (or fluid-bonded couples) who make amateur porn?

I would like for nobody to ever get HIV/AIDS, including those who make porn.

I just don't think we can/should tell grown-ups they HAVE to use a condom any more than we can/should tell them they CAN'T use a condom.

5. I'm not happy about this one bit!!!!!

......I was dusting off my Resume and exaggerating certain portions so I could be a "porn inspector" to see if they did indeed use condoms on the set.
