Lindsey Graham Censured Again

Graham Censured Again

The Republican Party in another South Carolina county voted to censure Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) "for his positions on several controversial issues, including his support for a compromise on cap-and-trade legislation," CNN reports.

The resolution "also rapped Graham for his vote in favor of the 2008 financial bailout and his outspoken support of immigration reform."

In November of last year, another county party censured Graham for being too liberal even though independent vote rankings show he's the 15th most conservative senator.

2. Lindsey Graham is a prick.
Let his own party eat him alive, hopefully. It's the only way he'd ever get any kind of punishment for being such a prick. Of course, censure is only a slap on the wrist, but at least something is happening to him. He deserves some real punishment.

Example:
He lists a 31% African American population in South Carolina as one of the problems South Carolina is facing.

The Democratic Party never punishes Republicans in any case. So, let his own eat him alive.

5. I couldn't agree more.
But, what is really appalling is that the others in his party are so bad that they make him look like a halfway sane and decent guy. No wonder this state is such a disaster area.

3. Let The Games Begin...
We could see some real fireworks soon as the teabaggers start feeling their wild oats in upcoming primaries. We already have one wingnut candidate here in Illinois attacking the "regular" GOOP Senate nominee, Capt'n Mark Kirk, by calling him a "homosexual". And that's just the start. Another is going after him for voting for the bank bail-outs and pushing that primary further and further to the right. There are several other races I'm watching where the unhinged far right are ready to pillage a "RINO" and more than happy to split the party (or what's left of it) in doing so.

There's a power play going on for the "soul" of the GOOP. More specific, for the purse strings. Steele has been a joke at the RNC, the national party is weak and there are operatives (like Dick Armey) who are exploiting the power vacuum. While the corporate media fixates on how President Obama is either too liberal or not liberal enough, the teabagging in the GOOP is underway.

:hi:

6. One of the indicators of a true political party is effective censorship...
The GOPers do this on a somewhat regular basis, and it appears to work. The Democrats blow a lot, but rarely do they discipline a member for ideological screw-ups. This is why the Democratic Party is rather weak: murky ideology and platform, little or no discipline, and a strategy of "letting the other side screw up," which is no strategy at all, but passive-aggressiveness raised to social policy.
