Obama Says Government Knew of "Other Red Flags" in Terror Threat

In a statement delivered after meeting with his top
counterterrorism officials, President Obama said that the
government was aware of warning signs before the failed
attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner, but "failed to
connect the dots."

The president also reaffirmed his commitment to close the
detention center at Guantanamo Bay, but said that the United
States had suspended the transfer of detainees to Yemen.

Imagine Bush saying that? Or Cheney? They wouldn't have the balls to go anywhere near admitting failure.

Not that failure is so great, by the way. But denial and lying are worse.
