Note to Obama
Bring American jobs back to America.

Last week I talked to a lady from Sprint in the customer service department at AT&T, then an Indian lady in customer service for American Express, just hung up the phone from talking with a customer service rep in Costa Rica for UPS. Thousands of Americans out of work would gladly work customer service jobs if they were brought back to America by America companies. This is a total outrage. Americans should band together and get these jobs back in the US and put Americans back to work.

9. One of the reason I voted for Obama
was the job creation because it's so vitally important to our stability as a nation. He spent billions to stimulus but we are still in a mess. The money would have been better spent bringing these jobs, not only in customer service but in manufacturing as well, back to American who so desperately need them. We need to take care of our own first.

3. Unfortunately this will not change
when big companies can find someone to work for pennies in the third world instead of a living wage in America.

10. If we all have that attitude it never will change
But if there is enough outrage and protests from Americans the politicians might listen. If we sit back and do nothing, more American will lose their jobs to foreigners.

12. American corporations should be free to purchase labor wherever
they want. But American consumers should KNOW about it and be free to do business elsewhere. That's why I want the database.

I mention to clients all the time that our call center is here in the States. It always gets a smile, a nod, and assents of approval.

13. You are correct but
government involvement in companies will create more problems than it will solve. (bank bailout, auto bailouts etc.)

5. I think the only way to do this is through public shame.
We need ONE website that becomes THE corporate watchdog, where shameful corporate behavior is documented, detailed and exposed, and then people are encouraged to sign a petition stating that they will no longer do business with XYZ Company or any of its subsidiaries nor purchase any of its products.

Somehow, there needs to be one website that EVERYONE will go to for this information on bad business behavior. Kind of like everyone goes to snopes for myth-busting info, everyone (almost) goes to Google for web searches.

Goverment regulation or mandates won't do much. Perhaps tax breaks for each U.S. job "brought back" from overseas, that might help. But I think massive, widespread shame is the only solution.

7. A great idea for a solution
Exactly the types of thing we need to wake up the American public and government to do something about the problem. People I talk with about the problem only have negative things to say, but they will never do anything about it. Like I said, we have to band together somehow to end this.

8. I wish somebody that's good at website development would take
this idea and run with it. Then it would be up to the rest of us to publicize it and make it go viral.

I am a capitalist. I do NOT think ALL businesses are evil. But I think the ones that ARE doing stupid or harmful things should be publicly shamed and shunned, and the people should take their dollars elsewhere. Such a comprehensive website would be an invaluable resource to the American people.

11. I think it's an idea worth exploring
And I know a famous athlete who just might help with his celebrity to get the word out. I really appreciate your input.
