Draft Senate Bill Includes 3-Month Unemployment Benefits Extension
By Mike Lillis 2/9/10 6:52 PM

It’s just an early version — or so the Democrats are saying — but Senate leaders appear to be that much closer to extending the filing deadline for unemployment insurance (which expires Feb. 28) through the end of May.

The additional three months are half what the House passed in December, and an even further cry from the seven months included in the White House budget, not to mention the 10 months being advocated by a number of Senate Democrats. Still, this would prevent roughly 1.2 million Americans from exhausting their benefits in March.

1. I wonder how the political calculus works here.
I'd bet that the 3-month number is so that we have another one that can be voted on at that point (contantly showing the unemployed who it is that supports them - and who they should support in Nov). Those looking for a 10-month window are probably people who want to make sure that nobody runs out of benefits just before showing up to vote.

3. Well
If people can actually believe that palin is a viable human being and a small percentage can still believe in * and some even still listen to darth, going around just unreccing every post here would be a small step in their version of reality...
