In defense of the Filibuster
I would bet that no one here would be against the Filibuster if we forced the Republicans to actually use it. If in fact they were required to stand in front of the camera and bray 24 hours a day there would be a political price to pay and if their point had defenders they would have to voice their defense of the Republican's obstructionists stance and if there were those against it they would say so but at least then we would have an honest political debate and it would continue until either something happened or the obstructionists simply collapsed on their feet but for goodness sakes it would be better than this. Why in hell do we surrender to the mere suggestion of confrontation.? If the Republicans are begging to shoot themselves in the foot why not let them?

2. That's why somebody needs to give Reid a boot in the arse
He needs to tell these blowhards that the gentlemen's club is a thing of the past and if they want to filibuster something, they need to get their wrinkled old arses onto the floor and start talking.

He needs to call their bluff and force them to do the work.

My guess is that few actually will.

We can't go on letting these blowhards simply threaten and blockade the business this country needs to get done. Obama can make recess appointments. He can't pass bills.
