3. Good Luck!
I hope you mean to dig them out of the snow and NOT out of the ground!

6. Had a surplus store flight suit in college - I was the warmest college boy in Boston

It was -10F degrees as the sun set in Central Square, Cambridge but I was warm as toast. Chilled and bewildered pedestrians hustled by and drivers honked. I stood there building snow sculptures with a broad, tell-tale smile on my face. No doubt, the grog in me belly and warm fog in me lungs also gave me nose a visible glow.

Have fun in the snow!

14. I was toasty. This one is all fake brown fur on the inside with built in suspenders...
so that it will 'fit' anyone between the heights of 5'5" and 6'5". But the sleeves are a good length and the legs zip up snug, so it looks goofy but works.

I'm 5'2", so I look like a green Michelin Tire Man or Svetlana on an Eastern Siberian road gang.

16. Then it's your choice - toast the occasion with méthode champenoise or a good Russian Vodka.

But, don't mix the two. The combination is deadlier than drinking the anti-freeze out of the rusty radiator in a Soviet T-55 tank. Deadlier even than trying to cram all of Sartre's Being and Nothingness the night before a final in a drafty dorm room overlooking the Charles River.

Got my flight suit at Central Square Army-Navy surplus store. No fir. No frills or patches. All man-made materials, probably manufactured here in the USA (that was the late '70s). Air Force light-green latex outer and some bulky fibre fill - not built for style, but, man, it never seemed to get TOO cold for a late afternoon stroll in the crusty snow along the Charles River. Commander Byrd, who claimed (falsely) to be the first to overfly the North Pole and (factually) the South, was once asked where the coldest spot on planet earth was - his answer was a certain street corner in Back Bay.

Could be Upper Wisconsin Ave., today. My bet is we're a mite bit colder here in Alexandria. Stay warm, however you do it! :toast:

7. Don't they have a concierge service to do that in Bethesda?
I believe it is against city laws to lift your own hands in an act of manual labor.

11. Okay, I'm back. I fell into a snowbank once, but was able to get up with the help
of the shovel. I dug out two fire hydrants. A third, in the median on Bradley, was still fairly visible.

So, I've done my civic duty today. Whew!

Okay, yes, it was kind of fun. I saw a poor guy walking down Bradley looking miserable. He was headed to a CVS for a cigarette. I hope the Arlington Rd. - Brad Blvd. CVS is open...
