Just got a robocall from "Rachel at Credit Card Services" --
There is currently no problem with your credit card account, but it's imperative you contact us to get a 6% interest rate...

I don't have a credit card.

Vultures.

1. Gawd. they were sued out of business six months ago
but I guess you can't keep scammers down for long.

I don't have credit cards either.

3. I would call her and have a good time
discussing anything, (the weather, etc) and tie them up as long as possible.

6. You can't have a conversation with a robocall.
Yeah, I know, you can press 1 and talk to whatever poor live bozo answers. But why waste your time as well?

17. It doesn't help.
We've been on the no-call list since we moved here, and we still get those calls every single week.

20. Then you need to file complaints with the FCC
or if on your State No Call list with your AG. I did so here in MO and the St. Louis Post Dispatch was fined $5K.

The list does work here for me and I am on both the Federal and my State, but sometimes you have to file complaints.

You could also call any number provided in the message and inform them that you are on the No Call list and you will be filing a complaint with the proper authorities.

I suspect the calls will stop.

21. Actually, I used to get these frequently. About 2 months ago, I pressed 1 and launched into
a 60-second spiel about how I knew this was a scam; I don't even have credit cards; I could see their phone number (I couldn't); and I was going to contact the FTC.

No calls since. It was 60 seconds well spent. :)

4. I haven't been to my doctor for about three years, thank you god, but
received a bill for $15 for "administrative costs." CPA in my building says it might be a new accounting firm trying to generate money so I threw the thing away. Vultures is the right word...LOL.

18. Some doctor billed you out of the blue?
Even though you had never gone to see them?

I would have taken that bill to the district attorney's office, or called the state attorney general's office, or tried to find some way to get them charged with fraud.

If someone is randomly mailing out bills to strangers, hoping some people will thing they are legitimate and pay them, that's just amazingly horribly offensive!

8. The CC companies are targeting us lately, too,
especially since my husband paid off his Chase, Capital One and B of A cards not too long ago. I think between us we got six credit card offers in the mail just yesterday.

10. My husband has been getting this call on his work cellphone and
I found this information on the number.

http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/6165974022

He's reporting this to his boss because he will be charged out of pocket for the calls coming in if they are not work related. He has no idea how they got his cell number at work.

Anyone who actually talks to them is asking to be robbed.

19. I get one every couple of weeks, usually a guy.
i just hang up, they don't listen to 'do not call'. Discover magazine was so bad that my husband yelled at them and threatened to discontinue. but they just kept calling. sometimes twice a day. And usually it was only six months into his renewal. They usually do this when they are bankrupt or need money in my opinion
