Steve King Calls For Revolution In The Streets Of Washington To Stop Health Care Bill
Eric Kleefeld | March 16, 2010, 5:41PM

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) is calling for a new procedural solution to stop the health care bill: Have an angry mob of citizens storm Washington and prevent Congress from acting, in imitation of the Velvet Revolution that overthrew communist rule in Czechoslovakia!

The Huffington Post interviewed King after his speech at today's "Code Red" anti-health care bill rally, a speech in which he called upon the crowd to "Storm this city, fill up Washington D.C., jam this capital so they can't move."

Speaking to the Huffington Post shortly after his speech, King declared that a peaceful uprising, a la the successful overthrowing of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia on the streets of Prague in 1989 "would be fine with me."

"Fill this city up, fill this city, jam this place full so that they can't get in, they can't get out and they will have to capitulate to the will of the American people," he said.

"So this is just like Prague under communist rule?" the Huffington Post asked.

"Oh yeah, it is very, very close," King replied. "It is the nationalization of our liberty and the federal government taking our liberty over. So there are a lot of similarities there."

1. These people are so delusional...
...that reality is red-shifted. That's probably why they think that everyone but they are communists.

10. They are communists who see only the super rich and privileged in the commune.
The rest of us have to be left out so they have someone to do the heavy lifting.

16. These people are saying anything and everything to appeal
to the lunatics out there in the republican party and the bunch of squeezed out tea bags. They think the more they yell and scream about government rule they more votes they will get in November. They are so wrong. The minority at this time is loud and stupid. But the majority are the ones who will show up to voted the dumb a**es out of office in November.

6. About 300 people showed up, not thousands. Sounds like a 'fail' to me...

7. Our "lib" anti-war protests drew hundreds of thousands (perhaps a million or more)
Those rallies were reported as "hundreds of protesters" by the corporate propaganda outlets (MSM).

8. Yes, I remember how so many of those protests were essentially
ignored. Up is down...

11. You have no idea how out to lunch King is.. He is my congresscritter so to speak
During the election, in 2008 he call the President a terrorist.. Not kidding with you. He refused to debate his Democratic opponent, and he still got elected. Take a direct line up to Minnesota and there is Bachmann.

How these two are getting in office has any number of us baffled.. Neither one of them is playing with a full deck.

It makes you think that someone somewhere is monkeying with the election boxes...

12. Mr. King? Bring it on
I'm tired of you and your whiner ilk pouting and sniping from the sidelines. Get out in the open. Let's see just how many of you there are. Let's see some faces, get some names. Who among your congressional cohorts is willing to stand with you in this crusade? What are their names? Let's get this out in public and let folks see who has the muscle and who's just a hustle.

14. KING IS ALSO AN UBER-COWARD
oops left caps-lock on but it seems appropriate.
You will never see the likes of Steve King truly leading.

13. *Sigh* It pains me to share a name with this ass-hat
Isn't holding people against their will called kidnapping? Isn't holding a large group of people against their will called hostage taking?

I wish the Mayor of D.C. would declare that anyone illegally blocking streets in D.C. is fair game for being run over.

17. It's even more painful to have him as your representative,
:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

He and Michelle Bachman are two peas in a pod. A rancid, rotting pod.

15. If A Democrat called for This
It would be anti-American and against Democracy...but since it's a repug it's some how ok.

I will be SO glad when they get it done and get some form of health reform passed.

18. WTF - Where is the corporate media that attacked Democrats who questioned the Iraq war?
Once again, Republicans get a free pass from the mainstream media. Worse, in the case of Fox, the media actively supports such treasonous actions.
