DH and I are sick at heart. We had to leave the room. He wants to leave the country -- from his point of view (and he's right) the only reason he was born is that his mother had the intuition to jump from Vienna to Belgium just before the Anschluss.

We Dems, Progressives, Liberals -- we have GOT to have the backs of our elected officials, whether Stupak or Pelosi. We must not be part of the hatred against them that's churning in this country.

But how -- HOW -- are we to go on?

In 2008 I knew that in defeat the radicalized Repubs were going to be as dangerous as a cornered animal. They are that.

I don't *care* if the Repub Party is "in disarray" or if conservative intellectuals are now "appalled" at the monster they nurtured. That monster is now on the loose among us.

2. I am watching her....

Voting and electing those we believe represent us, and making sure that those who do not, are defeated, is the best way.

We did in 2008 and got Obama elected. We have to rise up, and make sure that we keep the repukes and teabaggers out of the govt.

We also need to start at the lowest level, like the repukes did..at the school board and other local elections.

IT is very true that all politics are local...to start with.

4. There are many more of us than there are of them

but I warned months ago that they would be turning violent for the same reason stupid people turned violent in Rwanda and Bosnia: hate radio.

I can't counsel anyone on staying or leaving. I've been thinking of leaving, myself, even though I keep a very low profile except on sites that track political campaign contributions. (oops)

What makes me want to stay, though, is knowing there are more of us than there are of them and that they'll actually usher in a few decades of repression against the right just like the ones the left has endured from every administration since Nixon.

I'd like to be here to see that. I want them defanged, declawed, discredited, and humiliated just the way we were.

I want to be part of that.

The Yes We Can video from the campaign has been intercut with the Orange Man's "Hell no you can't." He sounds desperate and unhinged.

I survived 8 years of Bush ... I knew they weren't going to go away...
