Why is Rush Limbaugh still allowed to broadcast to our Military?
He is inciting violence with his hatred and trying to do so within our Military...We can not stop him and his ilk from broadcasting to the general public but we certainly can stop his filth from contaminating our Military...

7. So would I.
Is our government (or those who pull the strings) complicit in trying to start this revolution and violence against our citizens?

In banks and airports - I've seen Fox News on the majoritiy of the time.

That is the "News" America gets to see when they can't change the channel.

5. Are there any strong liberal radio personalities broadcast? Further, Limbaugh is propaganda
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 10:58 AM by KittyWampus
coming directly from the Rightwing Conservative thinktanks.

Even IF there was a Left counterpart broadcast, that person would not be tied into the Democratic party the way Limbaugh has been.

4. It's a damned fine question
Political unrest does not lead to optimal military efficiency. Even countering Rush with a liberal talk show host is unacceptable, imo. Keep politics out of the military --and vice versa.

9. It's like Tokyo Rose
being promoted on armed forces radio during WWII.

Obama should announce with great fanfare that Limbaugh will no longer be tolerated as he is undermining the morale of our soldiers. He can put an end to Limbaugh on armed forces radio tomorrow. What would it hurt? Would Limbaugh call the president names? Like magic negro? Would Limbaugh be inspired to criticize the president? Woe is me.

10. The Sad State Of American Radio...
AFRTS relies on whatever is produced stateside...including deals with the large American corporates to provide their "most popular" shows. Since rushbo is considered so "popular" (and those numbers can be debunked) and there's little else on American radio his show is aired. On the other hand, they do carry Ed Schultz every day. Sad to say if it wasn't rushbo, they'd fill the airtime with some other right wing asshat cause that's what dominating radio.

11. he may not have had a right to get on in the first place
but once he's on,taking him off because of the content of his broadcasts would run into a bit of First Amendment issue.

If there was a content-neutral basis for replacing him, that would be okay

20. At least remove him from armed forces stations.
He has First Amendment rights, but we don't have to put up with taxpayer dollars being used to spread his filth using military assets. He and his business associates can pay for their own radio stations.

26. Can we invoke the fairness doctrine here? Could it apply?
Unfortunately our government has such a full plate (see Bill Maher's New Rules video on the home page listing the prime issues) that the muck and filth overrun by maggots on the plate called Rush flush a movement Limbaugh has been allowed to continue to fester.

I wish, I truly pray, that one of the many in the administration could look into it and do something about it.
IT IS WRONG.

30. I have an idea...
Lets let the military personnel vote and be surveyed as to what they want to have on the radio.

What? You say that already happens? Well shit....

This mommy/daddy "We don't want your young impressionable minds to be negatively influenced" crap makes me want to puke. You want to block our internet as well? We could see naughty things there as well.

We are citizens just like the rest of you and we vote on what we want and apparantly they want Rush. I'd like to cut out that sissy Ryan Seacrest and his pop top 40 but more people liked it than hated it so it is still on the air.
