Teabaggers- "My rights are being taken away!"
I saw a woman on CNN at a teabagger rally saying that. I really wish the reporter would have asked her

EXACTLY WHAT RIGHTS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?????

Because, I seem to recall people being kicked out of bush events for having Al Gore bumper stickers on their cars or wearing peace signs on their t-shirts. These people are standing around with GUNS Too close to the President for MY comofort and no one is bothering them.

So what is their problem????

4. I demand my right to have coverage denied for a pre-existing condition!
Update on Patrick Henry: Give me pre-existing conditions AND give me death!

Yes, it would be real nice for a reporter to ask a follow-up question or two, just to get beyond the sound bite politics, and see if there's any dimension at all to these people. Right now, my impression is that they have all the intellectual depth of Saran Wrap.

They only know
talking points and slogans and if you press them on the meaning they explode into anger. this has been my experience. Don't question the delusions or they go stark raving mad.

6. They don't have ciritcal thinking, just talking points.
And hyperbole. Ask them about what they mean they give you another talking point completely unrelated.

And yes, the reporters should be trying to pin them down.

9. "What is their problem?"
Ignorance, essentially. Willful ignorance where they refuse to consider that they are being fed a bunch of garbage from the likes of Glenn Beck.

The rights they are losing? The right to be screwed over? I too wish someone would call them out on it on the MSM.

11. Her right to be denied health coverage?
Her right to see her premiums and copays go way up? Her right to get kicked off insurance totally if she gets sick?

I don't understand these people.

12. She's losing her right to privacy.
Once the IRS is involved with judging your insurance levels, the government will have an excuse to have complete access to your private health care records. Read the bill.

13. Supposedly their main gripe is that if they don't want to buy it they don't like being forced.
Edited on Tue Mar-30-10 12:16 PM by YOY
Of course I disagree with the fine thing and find it wrong...they're reasoning is to bitch for the sake of bitching. We've got a conservative solution to a real problem. It's a solution they should have come up with if they were real conservatives instead of batshit insane wingnuts.

Frankly, I think the fact that they would be going far more apeshit with a single payer or public option is humorous.

Money says she's covered by Medicare anyway.

17. That is the REAL issue!
One of my daughter's friends said she attended an anti-Obama rally with her parents. She said they were against his ideas not his race. I was thinking "sure, his idea of being our first black president!"

18. A Decade Of Mindmelding...
Just another byproduct of the bubbleworld where many hate radio and faux noise types live. They've been lured by words like "patriot" and "freedom" and then told that the rushpublicans "protect" them while Democrats want to take them away. What's them? Who cares. It's part of the lexicon that has evolved...dog whistles, buzzwords and talking points that ring hollow but sure sound good to say.

This is what enables these shitstains to complain about government "socialism" but don't want you to screw with their medicare or social security. These people have been told they've lost things they either never had in the first place or have no idea of what it means. But is sure sounds good when Grifterella belts 'em out at a rally.

25. She couldn't answer - like all the Beckerheads, they can only repeat
what he's said - word for word, phrase for phrase - but can never explain anything beyond that. Watch the different interviews from anywhere in the country, it's scary how brainwashed they are.

26. She, like many others, have no idea what they are talking about. They are just parroting
statements they've heard others make. Our local tv station did a segment about HCR where they asked people on the street what they thought about it. There were a couple of people who didn't like it because they were afraid it would take away their freedoms. Same thing. What freedoms do they think they are going to lose?
